Hello there. I’m Lesley.

Welcome to Stories, Journeys, and Magic.

If you had told my childhood self that my life path would be as a storyteller and performer, she never would have believed it. Painfully shy, I found myself in the first-grade homeroom classroom of Mrs. Deluccio, who made me sit in the front row, baptized me as Princess Petunia, and filled each day with stories, laughter, and light. It was in that nurturing space and under her care that I finally found my voice. Years later, during a club orientation in the fifth grade, when asked who wanted to join theater, my hand shot up—almost instinctively. And the rest, as they say, was history.

Theater and storytelling transformed me. Theater allowed me to step into different worlds, explore new perspectives, and most importantly, become more at ease with myself. That is why I have dedicated my life to telling stories and creating magical experiences that entertain, educate, inspire, and touch others.

Today, I wear many creative hats. I am a storyteller, a theater and film actress, a director, a drama educator, a freelance host, and a trainer. I give training programs on confidence building, personality development, and communication and presentation skills. I am also Creative Director and founder of Make Believe Productions, a storytelling and creative arts company that brings immersive experiences to both children and adults.

In my work, I always strive to bring magic and connection —whether it’s stepping fully into a role on stage, drawing children into a story with warmth and energy, or fostering a creative, joyful, and nurturing space for those I teach and direct. I love seeing people empowered by a story, watching children delight in a tale while its deeper message takes root in their hearts. One of my favorite moments? Playing the villain and watching kids become so immersed that they passionately root against me—once when playing the Greedy Onceler in Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, a little girl even ran up to me and cried, "You are so bad! You are killing the trees!" (She readily forgave me when I promised that I’d learn my lesson.)

Make Believe has now expanded into offering storytelling for adults, a program that equips parents, teachers, and educators with powerful storytelling techniques. No matter the audience—whether it’s a group of children huddled around a storybook or a room full of professionals eager to learn—I believe in the power of storytelling to foster compassion, transformation, and joy.

Thank you for being here! Let’s tell stories, go on exciting journeys, and weave loads and loads of magic.
